Buddha
Buddha is a person who has achieved purity and perfection of mind through his or her own efforts and has attained full development of his or her potential: all-encompassing wisdom and infinite, detached compassion for all living beings. Awakening is of a transcendental nature, not graspable by our mind. Zen says: "All beings have Buddha nature". It lies within, concealed by external habitus and actions that produce karma, in constant becoming and passing away. It is the path to liberation.
The awakened one
In Buddhism, Buddha means "awakened one". The term is most commonly used for Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, who is simply referred to as "the Buddha". Buddha Shank (Sanskrit: buddhatva; Pali: buddhabhāva; Chinese: 成佛) is the state and rank of an "Awakened One". This highest spiritual state of being is also referred to as Samyaksaṃbodhi, complete awakening.
The term Buddha is also used for other beings who have attained bodhi "awakening", such as the other human Buddhas who attained enlightenment before Gautama, the five celestial Buddhas who are mainly worshipped in Mahayana, and the bodhisattva called Maitreya, who will attain enlightenment in the future and succeed Gautama Buddha as the highest Buddha in the world.it is the path of liberation.
