Gayatri Mantra - Mother of the Vedas

Worship the sun, source of all light, to clear, purify and inspire our mind so that we can experience the absolute truth. These sacred Sanskrit verses are engraved on our mantra pendants. Handcrafted from the finest sterling silver, they are also available with 24K gold or rose gold plating. "OM - we meditate on the radiance of the Sun, the Adorable Supreme Divine Reality; Source of all being, the physical, astral and causal planes; May the Supreme Divine enlighten our minds and awaken our discernment; so that we may experience the absolute truth."

With the ancient light mantra we bow to Surya, the sun, and ask for spiritual clarity and knowledge. Who better to ask for enlightenment of the mind than the sun itself? After all, it provides light and life on our earth and, as a visible celestial body, represents the highest.

The Gayatri Mantra is a hymn to the sun god Savitur
Savitur is the creator of the cosmos (the root su means: to give birth, to drive). He is the Supreme Divine in his immovable posture as Creator, releasing and inspiring all forms into existence. Savitur is the spiritual sun at the highest point of creation, shining like an eye in the sky (Rig Veda I 22.20) In this mantra, the sun not only represents the physical aspect, but represents the divine in all things. The "Vedic mind" did not separate the physical presence of the sun from its spiritual or symbolic meaning. Everything was contained in one phenomenon.

The Gayatri mantra first appeared in the Rig Veda (I.22.20), an early Vedic text written between 1800 and 1500 BC. It is mentioned in the Upanishads as an important ritual and in the Bhagavad Gita as the poem of the Divine.
