Shiva represents the power of transformation and is pure consciousness. It is probably the most universal mantra and is regarded as the primal sound of creation, the embodiment of the highest reality. Shiva, called the loving, the benevolent, one of the "Hindu trinity" (Trimurti) with the three aspects of the divine, i.e. with Brahma, who is considered the creator, and Vishnu, the preserver, Shiva embodies the principle of destruction. Outside of this trinity, he represents creation and new beginnings as well as preservation and destruction. The mantra supports letting go. Letting go of the old to create space for the new. A transformation mantra. Shiva is what we are capable of becoming. Shiva is often called Mahadeva, the greatest god, and also Shambo, the seat of joy.
