The meaning of the heart chakra
4th chakra - unconditional love
In Sanskrit, it is referred to as the Anāhata Chakra अनाहत, where Anāhata is translated as "unharmed" or "undamaged". This means that we are safe in our spiritual heart and free from blemish. Whatever we encounter, if we connect with the power of love, we will be happy. Furthermore, the heart is associated with love in all cultures. Also, the heart chakra lies in the center of the chakra system.
Correspondences
The central themes of the heart chakra are: universal love, devotion, selflessness, healing, empathy and compassion. It determines integrity. On a physical level, it corresponds to the heart. The associated glands are the thymus. The sensory function is the sense of touch. The element is air. The color green. The mantra YAM.
Principle
With the heart chakra we accept ourselves and others as we are. Openness, loving kindness and inner peace allow us to look at life with optimism and make connections with others. Effect
The heart chakra opens up the possibility of integrating two opposing forces without judging them (without attachment). This energy is specific to the cooperation and integration that brings peace to the world. The first three chakra centers Mūlādhāra, Svādhiṣṭhāna and Maṇipūra are more or less in conscious confrontation with the energy aspects of Viśuddha, Ajñā and Sahasrāra chakra. Opposing forces are at work.
